How to get more Google reviews when your customers are happy but nobody writes one

You do good work. Customers say thank you at the door. Then your Google profile sits at the same number for a year. Here is why happy customers do not leave reviews, and the review request system that took a flooring company from 15 to 25 in two weeks.

You know the feeling. You finish a job, the customer is genuinely pleased, they say so to your face. And then you go home, open Google, and your business still has the same 15 reviews it had last spring. Meanwhile the company down the road with worse work has 80.

It is not that your customers do not like you. It is that nobody asked them at the moment they would have said yes.

Why happy customers do not leave Google reviews

People do not wake up thinking, I should go write a review for the floor company. Life takes over. By the time you think to ask, two weeks have passed and asking feels awkward, so you do not.

Umina Flooring Solutions had exactly this. Four years in business, beautiful epoxy and polished concrete, and 15 Google reviews. Priscila had tried asking. She had posted. She kept wondering, what else can I do?

The answer was not asking harder. It was asking at the right moment, every time, without having to remember.

The right moment to ask for a review

The best time is right after the invoice is paid. The work is fresh, the customer just decided you were worth paying, and they have their phone in their hand.

So that is the trigger. The invoice is marked paid, the system waits a little, and a text and an email go out with one link. If nothing happens, a gentle reminder follows a few days later. You do not send it. You do not think about it. It goes out every time.

If you invoice out of QuickBooks or your CRM, it hooks into that. Nothing changes about how you work.

Make leaving the review take one tap

The link matters more than people think. A raw Google link works. A page with your logo and your colours, that asks how it went and puts Google one tap away, gets used more. It looks like you, so the customer knows exactly who they are reviewing.

Add a QR code for the counter, the truck or the bottom of the invoice, and the customer who is standing right there can do it on the spot.

What about the customer who had a problem

Here is the part owners worry about. What if I ask and they were not happy?

Most people who had a problem are not trying to hurt your reputation. They just want you to know. So the page gives them a way to tell you first. A low rating opens a short private form, and what they write lands in your inbox and on your phone right away. You call, you fix it, and more often than not that person ends up more loyal than the ones who never had a problem.

What happened when Umina turned it on

She went on the system for one month. Within the first two weeks she gained 10 five-star reviews. Four years got her 15. Two weeks got her 10. She is at 25 now, all on Google, go look.

And the part that matters most is she stopped wondering. She does the floors. The system does the asking.

Flow: invoice paid, wait then ask, branded page, happy customers to Google and unhappy ones to the owner
The whole flow. The invoice is the trigger, nobody has to remember.
